Lim in Aquino Madness
Since the death of President Cory Aquino, Mayor Alfredo S. Lim of Manila is riding on the emotional nostalgia by putting up banners of Ninoy and Cory here and there. Mayor Lim, a known supporter of Aquino, must have used the late president's death for his re-election campaign. But the madness doesn't end in Cory Aquino's death. He even has streamers and a monument for Aquino's birthday! Where did the money come from anyway? The statue was paid by Lim as told in this news article. How about the ribbons, banners and streamers?

Apple iPhone 3GS Warranty in the Philippines
When you buy an Apple-unlocked iPhone online in other countries (e.g. Hong Kong), there is an international warranty included. However, this warranty will not be honored in the Philippines since Globe Telecom is the official Apple iPhone partner. Authorized Apple resellers will not honor your warranty also because of this tie-up. So if things go wrong with your iPhone, have it serviced in the country where you bought it. Phone shops at Greenhills Shopping Center are also more than willing to extend their helping hands.

Enjoy Card and BPI Microtel Promo
I recently inquired about the rates of Microtel Davao and they offered me an outright 10% (9.85% to be exact) discount on their double room weekday rate (from 2995/night to 2700/night). They also have a promo rate for a weekend stay at 2350/night.
I have an Enjoy card and a BPI credit card that both offers 10% discount on Microtel Davao. However, their 'promo rates' will be of no use since Microtel will be giving you promo rates even if you don't have these cards.
